The Outdoor Champ was built on a simple problem: most outdoor gear websites are written by people who have never used the gear they recommend.
We started in 2015 with one goal — publish outdoor gear reviews and field guides that come from people who actually hunt, fish, camp, and guide for a living. Not content writers working from spec sheets. Not agencies churning out affiliate roundups. Real outdoor practitioners who know the difference between gear that performs and gear that just photographs well.
Ten years later, that standard has not changed.

How We Test
Every product featured on The Outdoor Champ goes through field evaluation — not just specification comparison. Our reviewers test gear in the conditions it was designed for: wading boots in actual rivers, camping cookware on actual backcountry trips, hunting optics in actual low-light field conditions.
When we cannot test a product directly, we say so — and we draw on documented field experience with comparable gear, verified manufacturer data, and community feedback from active hunters and anglers.
