Find out what everyone needs to survive

Every human being on earth needs almost the same things for survival we have basic necessities such as food, water, shelter and security. You can lack some of the basic needs such as food and water but due to poor nutrition, your health will be affected and therefore make you weak and unable to face other life-threatening situations that you may face such as attacks by wild animals. Apart from the normal basic needs, you may have special needs such as medication ensure that you have enough stock for the medication. You should have a defense mechanism to use in case there is danger which can be life-threatening. You need to know how long you can survive if you had to count on yourself to get water for drinking, provide for yourself food.

Pinpoint areas which you need to prepare

Before you start prepping you need to know the things that you and your family need. You can start with two weeks; ask yourself how much you need for 14 days? Considering that you will not have access to water food, shelter and it will not be possible for you to call the police in case there is a danger.

Start acquiring your supplies, skills and gear

You have already prepared a checklist of the things you want for the period of prepping. What is remaining is to get all the things that you want ready to begin your journey. First get water and food because these are the things which are easy to acquire. Once you have all the food and water that can last you for days, you can now take care of other things that you may need such as shelter and security.

Reexamine and adjust where necessary

After having developed the plan above you may feel that you may have just done just part of it. Your goal may be living for about a year without having access to food, water, shelter and any other basic need. Therefore you need to make some adjustments in your plan. Some days you can make wide steps and others you may step back. This should not worry you, remain strong and always look down the road.

Relax but don’t quit

Prepping needs a lot of commitment and time. Sometimes you will wake up just to meet with disaster at your doorstep. However, this should not make you give up on your prepping journey. Don’t always prepare for one kind of a disaster because you may get frustrated when it doesn’t come to reality or maybe a different kind of disaster occurs.

Prepping is a kind of lifestyle which will help you in times of events that you may not see them coming but making early preparation will give you and your family security and also hope when there is no hope left.
